Client–Coach Contract

This agreement outlines the expectations, boundaries, and responsibilities for both the Client and the Coach to ensure a safe, ethical, and empowering coaching relationship.

1. Purpose of Coaching

Life coaching at Womentonic is designed to support personal growth, self-esteem, emotional awareness (non-clinical), clarity, goal-setting, and lifestyle improvement.

Coaching is not therapy, not counseling, and not a substitute for mental health treatment or medical care.

2. Coach Responsibilities

As your coach, I agree to:

  • Provide a safe, respectful, supportive, and non-judgmental space
  • Listen deeply and offer guidance, tools, and reflective questions
  • Maintain confidentiality (with safety exceptions, see section 8)
  • Act within my scope of practice
  • Inform you if your needs fall outside coaching and require therapy
  • Be present, prepared, and committed to your growth
  • Respect your boundaries, time, and personal pace
  • Provide summaries, practices, and tools after sessions when relevant

3. Client Responsibilities

As the client, you agree to:

  • Attend sessions on time
  • Communicate honestly and openly
  • Take responsibility for your decisions, actions, and outcomes
  • Complete agreed-upon practices or reflections between sessions
  • Ask for support or clarification when needed
  • Inform the coach if you are under therapeutic or medical care
  • Understand that coaching is not therapy, treatment, or crisis support

You are responsible for your own wellbeing and choices.

4. Scope of Practice (What Coaching Is / Is Not)

Coaching Includes:

  • Self-esteem building
  • Goal setting and accountability
  • Lifestyle habits, routines, and structure
  • Emotional awareness (non-clinical)
  • Relationship and communication patterns
  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Confidence and self-trust
  • Decision-making support
  • Journaling and reflection practices

Coaching Does NOT Include:

  • Diagnosing mental health conditions
  • Treating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder
  • Crisis intervention or emergency support
  • Substance misuse support
  • Trauma processing
  • Clinical emotional healing
  • Medication advice

If these concerns arise, the coach will recommend therapy or medical support.

5. Confidentiality

Everything shared in our sessions is confidential except in the following cases:

  • Risk of harm to yourself
  • Risk of harm to someone else
  • Abuse of a minor or vulnerable person
  • Legal requirements (court orders, subpoenas)

Otherwise, your privacy is protected at all times.

6. Session Structure

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes (unless stated otherwise)
  • Sessions occur weekly or biweekly, depending on the package
  • Sessions are conducted online (Zoom/Google Meet) unless agreed otherwise
  • Notes and action steps are provided after sessions

7. Payments & Refunds

  • Payments are due before the start of each package
  • Coaching packages are non-refundable once sessions begin
  • If you miss a session without 24 hours notice, it may be counted as used
  • Rescheduling is allowed with advance notice

8. Ethical Boundaries

The coach will not engage in:

  • Dual relationships (friendship/romantic involvement)
  • Judgement or moral pressure
  • Advice outside scope
  • Managing mental health crises

If the coach believes another form of support is better for you, they will inform you with compassion.

9. Ending the Coaching Relationship

Either party may end the coaching relationship with communication and respect.
If ended early, remaining sessions cannot be refunded but may be transferred to someone else (if appropriate) or scheduled later.

10. Client Acknowledgment & Consent

By beginning coaching with Womentonic, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand the difference between coaching and therapy
  • You take full responsibility for your wellbeing
  • You agree to the terms in this agreement
  • You understand that results vary by individual
  • You consent to coaching within this scop
